- Chubby58on Jan 26, 2018In the spring. I hope you don't chop the whole top off like most people do. Just a few branches. I have a huge crepe in my yard and I just trim off a few low hanging branches and let it grow.HelpfulReply

- Carolyn Winslowon Jan 27, 2018Yes, PLEASE don't commit "crape murder" as we call it, by chopping your trees too low. Trim off just the spindly branches to the same height, and the trunk will continue to get a little taller each year, so they don't end up stubby and looking like those lollipop trees we drew as kids!HelpfulReply
