Have you painted you exterior vinyl siding?

We're thinking about having our vinyl siding painted. It's currently beige, approximately 25 year old siding. We're interested in painting it a medium blue color and see that several paint companies have paints especially formulated for painting vinyl. If you paint the siding a blue, I hope you are planning to change the shutters to white or a complementary color.

Applying paint to vinyl siding improves its durability, and is actually less labor-intensive than painting wood or masonry surfaces. The vinyl doesn't retain moisture, the siding is easy to clean and dries quickly. I would ask your paint pro at the home improvement store for suggestions on brand of paint and materials to apply it.

I have done it for a friend. Power wash with water and then prime with Zinsser Bullseye 123, tinted with the color you plan to use and then finish with the last coat .
