We always put left over citrus, lemon, lime....grind it a bit, let it sit for 1/2 hour and grind the rest of the way. Kept the disposal smelling fresh.

Every so often, I pour some baking soda into it, let it sit a few minutes to absorb any smells, then run hot water down into it and turn it on for maybe 10 or 20 seconds.

Also, anytime I have lemon or orange peels, run them through the disposal to give it a very fresh smell.

Yup, take ugly lemons and cut in half or quarters then run thru disposal. Also sharpens the blades!

I use vinegar and baking soda, pour the baking soda in, then the vinegar, and top off with baking soda. I let this sit for a couple hours, then I have a round brush (kinda looks like a round toilet brush). I push it in there and go around a couple times, rinse and done.

Make a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice and alternate pouring down the sink with ice cubes.. The mixture freshens the disposal and the ice cubes sharpen the blades.
