As you may have seen in my other posts, I finally decided to go gray! This time I am showing how I transformed my Dining Room with four things...Paint...Fabric...Area Rug...Drapes.

My dining room was gold, red and green as you can see in the picture below.
This was my Dining Room before.
First of all we painted the walls gray. I used SW Repose Gray. The walls were a gold color. Then I went to the fabric store to find a fabric that would match to recover the seat cushions on my Dining Room chairs. I brought a fabric swatch home to make sure it looked good in my lighting.
Tools Needed To Recover Chairs
I gathered the tools needed to cover the cushions.
Staple gun, measuring tape, screw driver and scissors. I measured the chairs to determine how much fabric to buy. Just need to make sure that you get enough to wrap around the bottom of the cushions leaving enough room to staple. Then I cut the four pieces of fabric out that I needed.
Remove screws on bottom of chairs
There is usually 4 screws that hold the cushion to the chair. I removed those.
Here is the chair without the cushion.
Lay the cushions upside down and wrap the fabric around the cushions evenly. Then start to staple the fabric on the bottom being careful to stretch, tighten and evenly go around. You will need to fold around the corners.

Once you have them all done, reattach/screw the cushions to the chairs and you are done! It really is pretty easy.

I found an area rug that I liked online. And, found my drapes at Tuesday Morning. I used the same curtain rods that were there so that was easy hanging them as well.
Close up of my four components
Above you can see a close up of the paint color, fabric, area rug and drapes. I feel it all came together well!
Dining Room After
Above is an after picture of the new room. I posted a second "after" picture below.

I am happy with how it looks. Much brighter and cleaner!
