If you love crafting and upcycling then you are going to love this twine table vase Birch Lane knockoff! Not many folks know that twine is also called jute – there are many different styles and sizes of jute and you can create so many beautiful crafting projects with it. I have so many of those cheap glass vases and didn’t want to throw them out and thought of using my jute immediately.
It’s super easy to make, and I just love the results. I decided to add a vase inside of a vase for this project – I love the nail polish marble dipped vase I made and thought how beautiful it would look inside this larger vase, and I was right.

I love the pops of color and dimension it brings to it.  Below, you can see just how beautiful these upcycled vases turned out.
This twine table vase was so easy to make and you can create one in about an hour or so. All you need is a glue gun, some twine or jute, and an old cheap vase and you are ready to go.

I started with a vase that was about 8 inches tall.
This is generally what a spool of twine/jute looks like.  Make sure you get the thickness you want as well. I used the 7mm size – it’s a tad thicker than most so be sure to order the one you like best.
You can get some good deals on jute and you can use it for so many beautiful crafting projects. The possibilities are endless!

Decide exactly where you want to place your twine – I decided to place it in three spots on the vase. The Birch Lane Table Vase had the twine on the base – which I do like but, I thought of how much prettier it would be throughout the entire vase. They have their twine table vase priced at $33.99 which is far more expensive than it costs to make one yourself!

When you are wrapping the twine around the vase, be sure to place it tightly together – you don’t’ want any spaces between the twine. I also used a crafting knife to push the twine ends together where they meet.

Be sure to trim the twine strings from the edges when you are done – just to neaten up the final look. Use a small scissors to trim the strings.

Depending on the size of your vase, determine your twine placement and design. That’s the nice thing about using twine – you can use as little or as much of it as you like.

I love the end results! And the best part is I’ve upcycled my old vases that probably would have ended up in the recycling bin!
I love combining twine crafts with lights – there’s something so romantic about the combo and always looks so beautiful paired together.
Be sure to check out  my other jute crafting projects too. It’s so relaxing, and I love the results. The only limit to what you can make is your imagination!

My last jute crafting project was this beautiful Upcycled Wine Jug – I also created the stunning jute placemat it sits on as well!
Another one of my favorite jute crafting projects is this Stunning Braided Jute Centerpiece – be sure to check out this beauty too! I love how it looks on my coffee table. Working with jute is therapeutic – it’s one of the most relaxing things to do, and the end results are so very rewarding.
