it depends on the size of the room and where you want the focus to be.

Woodwork color you’re making the room a bit smaller. Wall color expands the room. Keep in mind that you can sort of go middle ground, where they’re a feature but not a distraction - this all obviously depends on how many and large the windows are and how “busy” the furnishings and artwork.

Sometimes plain white blinds look generic and like you didn’t take much effort. However, white and other light colors brighten and enlarge a room. Matching the wall color is often dramatic and adds to a monochromatic theme. Close your eyes and imagine your options over the windows. Which look fulfills your idea of a perfect room. Go with that as your decision. Best wishes ☺️

If the blinds will sit inside the trim, and you don't want to call attention to them, match the trim. If it covers the trim and you don't want to call attention to it, match the wall. If you are going to add a layer of fabric to the windows coordinate your blinds to your other window dressing. Colors can fall out of favor, better to choose the white or cream to get more mileage out of them, especially if they are expensive.

I match the blinds to the trim so the trim doesn't look like a frame around the blinds.

That's good advice but I think I will have to mount them on the outside of the trim because there isn't enough room on the inside. thanks
