OMG! I just tried this and it was wonderful if you are cleaning silver plate or sterling using baking soda, tin foil and boiling water. Mom4real has a tutorial: https://www.mom4real.com/clean-silver-remove-tarnish/

    For true silver or silverplate:

    1. Buy heavy duty tin foil.
    2. Cover sink with foil, shiny side up.
    3. Fill with hot water; I boil on stove.
    4. Dissolve 1 cup salt in warm water; I use ice cream salt.
    5. Pour into hot water.
    6. Put in silver and let sit for 30 minutes for heavy tarnish.
    7. Rinse silver and use light coating of silver polish. Buff.

Going forward, you will only need to clean with polish once a month.

Are they truly "silver" or are they silver plate, or are they stainless steel??? Everyone call their eating utensils "silverware". If they're .925 silver, or plated, Bijous_2010's answer is the best. I would not recommend rubbing them with aluminium foil.
