Rental Door Update?

I love color however, our door is a flate white matte finish without any gloss. Easily can be smudged and become dirty.
What could I use to decorate this plain door without issues from the owner?
Hang a wreath! Make one for each season or holiday. Decorate the area around the door with potted plants and garden art. That way the focus is on how attractive the area is and not the door itself.
ask the home owner if you replaced the door with your own but keep his to put back when you leave if he would let you.
I agree with Naomie. Since this is an outside door, the manufacturer must have put a finish on it to protect it. Even if they didn't, it would be the owners problem. Putting a wreath on it, using an "over-the-door" hanger will give you color. If the door is painted, what sort of protection does it need? Isn't that what paint does?
You should take a look on Pinterest to see if you find decorating ideas that spark your interest. Most renters who ask here seem to have an adversarial relationship with the landlord and cannot even talk with them. Before I would even make a hole for a wreath hanger I'd want to run it by them. Perhaps if you developed a tasteful idea that would enhance the property you would receive the go-ahead.
You can do Absolutely Nothing with the door unless you have permission. I'd go with a pretty door hanging. You can get door hangers at craft stores.
Clings they are colourful and removable some are even in stained Glass effect.............

That is flat out painted wrong. Flat paint should only be used for ceilings. I don't even like it on ceilings. Maybe it's primed and they forgot to paint it? It this a house or an apartment/condo? (Apartment/condo HOA's usually paint them for you.) Have you asked the owner if you can repaint it with a simi-gloss or gloss white paint? Its really easy to paint a door the same color. You'd only need a quart of exterior grade, latex (waterbase), white gloss or semigloss, a cheap brush and a paint roller. If I'm ever in Las Vegas, NV all come do it for you..lol I can't imagine having to live with that. Are the walls inside flat too? sorry for ranting.
