Modern Black Dresser Makeover

There is an old dresser I’ve wanted to redo since purchasing it for $30 off of Craigslist a few years ago. The clean lines of this piece give it loads of potential!
The dresser had wooden knobs on each drawer. Initially, the whole thing was stained, but shortly after I bought it, I painted the top and knobs. Now it was time to paint the whole thing!

The plan for this dresser was to replace the knobs with something more modern. I love the look of long metal handles frequently on IKEA furniture, but I didn’t want to spend the $.
Instead, I cut strips of wood 13″ long, spray painted them silver, and screwed them onto each drawer using the existing screw holes.

With a coat of spray paint, no one can tell they aren't real metal!
After completing the new handles and painting the whole dresser gloss black, the last step was to add a product called O’verlays. They sent me their plastic panels for free to decorate my piece of furniture.
I attached them to the sides of the dresser with little brad nails. Working with these paintable, lightweight panels to design my modern dresser redo was simple and gave it a much more interesting look!
The dresser found a home in my  master bedroom. The black mirror above it was created for the previous dresser which resided there. It goes with the new dresser just perfectly, though, doesn’t it!?

The door handles are 13 inches long and what are the other measurements? Are they one by one or what? Clever trick to make the handles that way. Do they work well?
