My husband does not want to do any of the glue or nail tiles & I do not want to scape because I hate to deal with the drywall dust everywhere. Ideas on possibly painting on ? Thick almost concrete like (but not that thick & heavy) & using a spatula type (or like those scrapers that look like a cake decorater;) to make swirl type pattern? and just possibly go over the top ?!? Ideas please!!?! Thank you!!

We did our popcorn ceilings ourselves and it was dusty. Then some friends did theirs and duct taped a dry/wet vacuum hose to the scraper to do theirs. Problem solved. You might want to consider this?

Patching always shows. It must be removed to be redone. Ask at a piant store - the painter can use a special machine which removes and vacumes the mess at the same time so you don't find it all over the house.
