I am not sure what you want to do here but you might be able to patch if you can find the tile again. Or maybe change out trim pieces with different tile and try to tie a new design into the existing tile.

You sure can. Color in ceramic tile is fired into the tile. That is a nice looking tile you have there, but it can be painted with special paint for ceramic tile. Be aware that the paint will not have near the durability of the tile.

if this is the only place with this situation, I’d remove all of it on that wall and replace it. This looks like 50’s vintage tile to me and will be very hard to match. Since it’s in a corner, try to make it deliberate...maybe a solid wall of pink?

The answers to your questions are yes and yes! Definitely take the advice of the above Hometalkers and use this as an opportunity to update this bathroom wall. Try to select tile that will compliment the rest of your room. Don't forget to consider larger or smaller sized tiles than what's already there, patterns and possibly different shapes. While you're shopping, don't forget a good tile cutter. You won't regret it!
