We had an old steamer trunk that was a roadside find years ago. It was actually updated with an off white paint, but was pretty scratched up and kind of boring. None of the metal detailing showed. If you’ve visited here recently you know I’m participating in a craft room challenge. Storage is a necessity and I plan to use this trunk to store scrapbooks and photo albums. Here is the before:
I told you it was plain and boring! My craft room is going to have a pink and gold color scheme, so I went with those colors on this steamer trunk. You can see my plans for the craft room  here.
I used my favorite  Decoart Metallic Paint in Copper. Isn’t this color beautiful? Check out this mini cabinet I just updated with the same metallic paint:
I painted the steamer trunk with a soft pink color. I used a small brush to paint the copper detailing. This picture is before I went back and touched up the paint:
I actually use a q-tip for the small touch ups. It works like a charm! This room will also be used for my daughter when she visits so I bought a futon for this space. The steamer trunk will sit in front of the futon and works as a coffee table as well!
