Colors to paint rooms?

WE WANT TO SELL OUR HOUSE AND WANT TO KNOW IF IT IS TRUE THAT ALL ROOMS SHOULD BE SOME VARIANCE OF WHITE?

The color of the rooms should be some variant of NEUTRAL... gray, tan, beige, sage green (light), blue gray.. we used one called November Sky.. or cream or white.... use lighter colors in smaller rooms, but you could use a more saturated shade in a larger room.. ... a gray tone on walls and white trim is classic.. and appeals to almost everyone.

to me cream would be better , i looked around new show homes set up for sale and they used cream,

From everything I've read and seen, it's more about not using extreme colors and providing a neutral background. I've seen some beautifully staged homes done in shades of gray, light sage, etc. Light colors brighten up a room. Not everyone likes certain colors, so the key is to appeal to as many buyers as possible. Personally, I don't like beige or stark white. But, there are many neutrals that work to warm up a room. Not all colors (or neutrals) work in all lighting. Find the color palette you want feel would show your home off to its best and avoid extreme colors. A fresh coat of paint really spruces up a room.

I am a Realtor in Columbus Ohio and I suggest that my clients drop by a model home to see what is trending. Notice that they are never painted white, nor are they hot pink. The other thought is look at a pottery barn catalog and take note of the color combinations you see. These are just directions to look to. They pay a lot of people a lot of money to tell us what we like.

We've sold 6 homes over the years and it does seem to help if rooms aren't outrageous colors like a crayola box. Reducing clutter - to a storage area, we have even once rented a storage shed- photographs making countertops mirrors faucets and floors shine help too. Its not always easy with children or pets
