My sister needed to separate her boys in a mobile home bedroom. She put two identical book shelves (the old press board kind) each one facing to the kids side. So each kid had open shelves and a closed shelf to hang posters, etc. Might be an idea.

They did theirs to the floor but yes, that is paramount. Thanks for bringing that up.

Hello Marie :) As long as you arent worried about soundproofing the room(s) from each other when the one is divided, you could use shelving as a temporary wall, or simple panel room dividers. Here are visuals of those ideas as well as others. Good luck with thedecision you make and thanks for asking HOMETALK for answers :)

Put a curtain up. Use the same idea as used in hospitals. They have a track on the ceiling and curtain that can be opened or closed when you want. It gives a sense of privacy but can be opened when you want.

I would hang curtains from the ceiling that can be rolled back when you want use of the full room and drawn when you want to divide the room. They have curtain rails that hang from the ceiling (like they have in hospital rooms) just for this purpose. You can get them at the large home improvement stores.
