Sure thing Dee, you can use her technique and ask her any questions you have along the way. They also sell paint specific for painting on glass at craft stores if you want to look into that as well. :)

I have purchased suncatcher paint at Walmart for a reasonable price.

Depending on the results you want... any paint will work once the glass has been well cleaned with alcohol... there are specialty glass paints, spray frosting paints, and window films make to give privacy where there is clear glass

Thanks, Marty. I'm looking to paint some 4"x8" glass panels for hanging in windows, or just for framing.

    Hi Dee,

Do you want to paint it for privacy or decoration? To decorate, I've used Gallery Glass. For a privacy window I used 2 coats of clear Galaxy Glass and some wall stickers. In hindsight, I would have used frosted for my project but A.C. Moore didn't have any so I used clear. I did find some frosted at Hobby Lobby so the last coat was frosted. To put it on, put some on the window then swirl it with your fingers. It's reminds me of working with Elmer's glue but not the same thickness. Here's what I did. Wishing you the best.

Linda, Your window came out great ! Thanks for the info.

I have some small glass panels (4x8") that I want to paint flowers, birds, or butterflies on to hang in a window. Not stained glass, but just painting. Does Hobby Lobby sell that kind of paint?

I would still use Gallery Glass. (not Galaxy as I mistyped before) and yes, Hobby Lobby sells that the last time I checked. You can ask them if they recommend something else. Also the idea of using acrylic paint and glue, might work too. Try taking an extra piece of glass (or buying a frame with glass at Dollar Tree) to try different ideas to see what you like. :)
