What is best to do if painting interior doors.... paint just the door

Or the door facings also?
Doors are sea salt. Walls are blond. Sherwin williams. Upstairs walls will be sea salt and doors oyster bay.

    If there is other woodwork in that room I would want mine to match.

    Unless the woodwork is the same throughout the house or room, I would paint the frame. If all of your woodwork is white or natural wood for example, then you might want to choose a door color that will coordinate well with the woodwork.

    I agree, match the color of the rest of your woodwork. I painted the inside of my front door black. All the other woodwork in the house is white and this door gets lots of compliments!

    The trim around the door should match the trim (baseboards, trim around windows, crown moulding etc.) which appears to be white. I would leave it white.

    If a certain door is obtrusive and you want it to fade away, or not stand out so much, then paint it and the trim and the wall all the same color.

    Otherwise the decorating 'rule' applies, as others have said, to paint either 1/ the door and the trim one color, and the walls another

    or

    2/ the door and the wall one color, and the trim another


    The trim color should be the same throughout the home.

    Right now in the picture, you have three colors going on.

    This is one color too many. You need to choose just two.
