    sounds like a drainage issue or if you have a leach field from septic system an even bigger issue

    If you are in Alaska, that's Tundra. If you are in Florida, that's a sink hole. Either way you might want to consult a local soil engineer or your County Extension Agency.

    Have you checked to see if there are moles or voles creating tunnels under the ground? Check with you County Extension Service as to how to get rid of them in your area. The County Extension Service is typically associated with your state agricultural university but should have offices in your county. Search Google for County Extension Service in your state.


    They would also be able to help you with other reasons for a soft yard (like poor drainage or thatch buildup).

    First of all, I would have this tested, it maybe clay, which will not let you grow good flowers, or produce. Anything can be burried there, we know for sure. This happened to us. Best wishes, J.
