We just got back from a much needed warm and sunny vacation to the gulf side of Florida. We spent some time at Ft. Myer's beach and Estero Island and found some really neat shells. The kids were excited each time they found one they've never seen before and I have to say, so was I!

We brought some of our favorite shells back so that we could craft with them and my daughter and I decided we had to make some jewelry. So after a quick trip to the local craft store, we were ready to go.

If you like beachy jewelry, you can also head over to my blog and check our our DIY seashell earrings we made too!

You're going to need a ring blank, a seashell, your hot glue gun and glue and some E6000 glue. Of course you will probably want to make more than 1 ring, so go ahead and get a few more of your favorite seashells and some extra ring blanks. ;)

Flip your seashell so it's upside down. Notice how it has a well in it? You want to take your hot glue gun and fill up the well so that it is full of glue and almost flush with the edges of your seashell. This is where your blank will get glued on. By filling up the well you give a nice flat area for the ring blank to adhere to and when you want to wear your seashell it will sit nicely on top of your hand instead of scratching up your finger.

Once your hot glue has completely dried inside of your shell you can attach your ring blank. Add some of your E6000 glue to the top of your blank and then glue it onto your hot glued area of your seashell.

Be aware of what position you are gluing your seashell on too. Decide how you would like the ring to face when you have the ring on your finger and make sure it dries in the correct position.

The E6000 really should cure for a few hours, so find a way to prop your ring up against something so that the ring blank glues on straight.

Once your glue is dry it is ready to wear. They are so much fun and so easy to make and they make great gifts too.

Here are a few of our favorites from all different beaches we've visited. They are so much fun and so easy to make. Plus they make great gifts too!
