Antique Chair Makeover!

Found this beauty at a yard sale for $6. It's from the 1920's and needed some love. The woman I purchased it from said that it belonged to her grandmother and that there was only one captain's chair in the set because that was all they could afford back then. I'm so happy to give it new life! It was exactly what I have been looking for.

I spray painted this after a good sanding (with a palm sander). All the screws needed tightening as well. I used a glossy white spray paint and recovered the cushion with this great Waverly fabric that I've used to reupholster two bar stools and a bench. I am working on a coordinating striped pillow for this chair as well as the barstools I did a few weeks ago.

Here it is with one of the pillows I made. It fits perfectly in the corner of the dining room next to the newly repainted blue buffet.

I have a dining room with arms that I've been wanting to paint & recover also. Seeing your chair gives me inspiration to begin this project! Looks like you did a great job on it :) My fabric is Waverly also, but it has geraniums on it. And I got white chalk paint & wax to do mine (needs no sanding or stripper w/this paint).
