My wooden stair railings are spaced too far apart. How can I fix them?

Have Metal Scrolls made to fit in between Or fix wide timber panel in between or Fix hooks top and bottom and run string etc. up and down or across between..................

It would look pretty to add a spindle centered between each of what’s there now.

I go with Erin. Add metal spindles in between the wood spindles. Or screw eyes top and bottom and plastic coated coated cable.

I agree that the current balusters are spaced too far apart. Seems like alternating with metal would add a finished look.

You could also just buy round wooden dowels from the hardware store and stain them a darker color and put one in-between each, Just get a drill bit the diameter of your dowels, put some tape around the bit to prevent it going into the rail too deep or the stair riser. Probably the most practical solution is to buy a few metal spindles to your taste and take a look at them between the wood spindles. It might be too cluttered.
