Looking for an under sink filter that takes out acidic water & copper?

We have found out that the well water is highly acidic from the nearby swamp. This has been causing the copper pipes to disintegrate. We have started to think that this is causing several health problems- our dog has had health issues from the high levels of copper. I have had more cavities from the highly acidic water. We really need a reasonably price filter for under the kitchen sink.

Since you are picking up copper from your plumbing, wouldn't the best answer be to replace your pipes with CPVC? Stuff is cheap, easy to work with, and does not corrode.

I would suggest that you ask your water company. If you have well-water only you may need to talk to a reputable plumber.

There are crystals a plumber can install on the incoming water pipe, straight from the source. It should make all your water less acidic and protect all your pipes.
