Paper Flower Peace Sign

Sweet Pickins

I am currently redoing my entry way and ive decided to do an eclectic collage wall above it and i knew right away that i wanted a peace sign! Who doesnt love a peace sign?! I kept going back and forth on how to make the sign and one day it hit me that i needed flowers. Lots and lots of flowers. And and easy way to make flowers is with paper!
I had a cool piece of old wood with some awesome green paint on it that was a perfect back drop for the sign. I cut that down into the correct size and then secured all the pieces together with some wood strips on the back.
In this pic the peace sign was just used for staging, but eventually the sign will get hung on my wall.
i love all the colors/prints of the different flowers! And i love the paper in contrast with the barn wood.
Making the flowers was super easy - just cut out large circles of the thinner scrapbook paper. Then crumple the paper.
After cutting out circles, start by cutting your paper in a circular shape, start on the outside.
Start out rolling up your flower so the white part of the paper is on the outside. After you have rolled it up, cup your hands and let the flower loosen. In my sign i made all different size flowers for a little variety.
Add a few little dabs of hot glue along the way to keep the flower from unraveling. And make sure and secure the end as well.
The last step is to glue your flowers to your board and make the shape you want. Thats it!! So easy and so fun! Full tutorial up on my blog with more pics :)
