How to Make a Corner Shelf!

This is an easy way to make and paint a corner shelf.

This is the finished corner shelf.
My lovely wife Mariko drew out the dimensions and I used cedar to build it.
I used one and a half boards to make this shelf, so it cost about $6. Two would cost $9.
This is a pretty simple jigsaw cut. Add the thickness of the board to one side so they're equal when you screw them together.
Here are both sides joined together.
I used a pot lid to trace the shelves. 
I glued and screwed everything together with wood screws.
Cedar wood is soft and really easy to sand, so don't worry about little imperfections in your cuts. I cut my shelves a tad big, so I could sand them down to become level with the sides. My old jigsaw blade even broke on the last shelf I cut. I used this shelf in the middle and you can see the bump in the picture. No, problem though, because you can correct things like this with a sander...if it's not too bad. 
You can see how it's easy to sand everything down to line up.
Smooth!
After sanding, Mariko painted the shelf with one coat of Annie Sloan graphite.
When that dried she used Annie Sloan original, dry brushing in areas to get the graphite to show through. When the original dried she spot sanded more accents even bringing small spots down to the wood. When she finished she sealed the shelf with Annie Sloan clear wax...I sound like an Annie Sloan commercial..

This was an attempt at a wavy shelf that came out way too wavy.
