i would do that only to replace any wall paper that is there. There are weight restrictions for campers, rv, tent trailers. There is the base or empty weight and then a max wt load. You don’t want to go over the max. Most of what I’ve seen in campers is a wall board with a design on it.

Hi. Ok I do get weight restrictions, but just how heavy would contact paper be? There are lots of things that can be done with it weighing very little. I'm just saying because it sounded like you may think it will add too much weight. Lol my man worried less about the paper and more about the things I felt I needed to live with. Your heart was in the rite place with your info tho. Have a great day.... Gigi

Short answer- yes. (Unless it needs to fold up like canvas!) Make sure you use a good quality wallpaper paste, like for kitchens or bathrooms, as campers are exposed to large variations in both temperature and humidity. Have fun!

I put wallpaper over the existing wallpaper using a heavy duty Zinsser wallpaper adhesive. It has only been 5 days & it is already peeling off. What can I use that would be better?

Hi. We also wanted something different in our RV. I'm not sure "walpaper" would stick for the long run. That being said, I took the DIY leap with contact paper. That sticks very well on walls. I even got the stainless steel for the stove and frig. So far so good at 2 years and counting. I did go to the WALMART site for this. I also got the backsplash press on fake tiles for the bath and back splash. Now those can get pricey, so shop around. The Dollar Store even has them. Some can look cheap, but you can find many styles if you spend time looking online. Oh the weight with both is so small you shouldn't notice. Good Luck Gigi

Thanks Robert and the others. Since I'm going to live in it full time, I want to make it a little more mine and not so generic. Think I'm going to look at both contact and wallpaper.

Depends what the wall is made of. Years ago I used a plastic type of adhesive wall paper/shelf-liner material that worked well as it complimented the rest of the walls.

you will want to read this, as you will need certain wall paper for a rv.http://www.doityourselfrv.com/upgrade-rv-wallpaper/

Contact paper...No so heavy. Wet wall paper a bit heavier. G.G.’s Camper..she tried the wall. Paper.not so good of a result. The wall board started to wave Form moisture.

Contact paper ok, wall paper the glue is wet prep. The wall board is a fiber board and may swell out of shape if to wet.

  • Dfm Dfm on Feb 10, 2018

if that wall board gets soaked the fibers will swell, and get a bit heavier, much heavier had to clean up after a few floods.

  • Dfm Dfm on Feb 11, 2018

The other thing with wall board....it’s made of wood fibers...not dimensional lumber. When it gets wet it swells and warps. Had a piece we put the toy race car track on...had. Non salvageable after a half inch of water got to it.

Yes you can - Vinyl is best.

  • Mogie Mogie on Jan 05, 2023

Yes you can and it will really make a camper feel more homey (depending on the print). Campers are small spaces so I would avoid large prints.

Yes, you can! Just ensure that it very well adhered. I doubt that you really have to worry about the weight of the wallpaper taking you over the maximum load limit. Maybe throw out an old pair of boots or something else if it does! :)
