How to DIY a Bedskirt for my Split King Adjustable Sleep Number bed?

I just read a post today where a woman used a drop cloth to make a bed skirt. With no sewing involved. Cut the drop cloth the same length and width of your mattress (add more if you want pleats). Iron the drop cloth. Fold the top edge of the drop cloth down and iron in place. Attach Velcro to your mattress every 12 inches. Attach the opposite velcro on to the drop cloth where you folded it down. Make sure the velcro's line up. Easy on and easy off for cleaning. If you want pleats on the bed skirt, just iron them in. Then when cooled down, put a couple drops of hot glue to keep pleats in place. It looked pretty nice. I think I might try one too.

Measure the drop from the top of the fabric edge of the base to the floor. That would be your drop. They have premade skirts which fit whatever size bed you have which are elasticized and go around the sides and bottom end and have adjustable elastic or Velcro to go around the head of the bed. Most have two bands of elastic so you can adjust the length (drop) if it is too long. I found mine on Amazon.

I agree with Kalueke. You can pick up beautiful premade bed skirts with elastic on them or that lay under your mattress all over the place and in lots of different colors, styles and lengths. I saw that listing for making one out of a drop cloth and I think a drop cloth is far better suited for protecting your furniture from paint or dust or making outdoor curtains with. I don't mean to be cruel but I didn't find her drop cloth bed skirt pretty at all nor durable since she didn't sew any of her raw edges. I'm positive hers will not endure more then a couple of washings before it's unraveled to much to be usable any longer. Check out some of those online catalogs such as Collections Etc. or Domestications or places like Walmart online or in the store, Amazon, Target, etc. If you can sew, then making your own out of a king size flat sheet is another cost friendly option and this way you can get a custom fit as well as a perfect color match for your bedding. You can also buy patterns to use in many different styles online from Singer, Hancock fabrics, ebay and possibly Amazon.

Make skirt in 3separate pieces. Fasten to box spring with curly furniture pins .....the kind that hold chair arm covers in place
