My Sunroom Makeover.
Hey ya'll! I am here to share my sunroom makeover. I started with indoor/outdoor carpet, paneling and really just a plain jane room. Notice that heavy duty iron security bar on the window? Yeah, everyone of them on every window was taken down on closing day, along with all the lock changes.
I guess it is here I should mention that I wanted a brick floor. And I meant I was gonna have me a brick floor in my sunroom!
First, take up the glued down carpet. Paint the bricko the house. Clean, prep, prime and paint the 3 remaining walls. I also painted both the door to the dining room and the sunroom door, and all the window trim in gloss black.
With all the painting done, it was onto my brick flooring! Or so I thought it was. (insert mega frown and crocodile tears!)
after using a heat gun and a scraper, I sanded any leftover glue.
This area here needed to be leveled and smoothed out. Let me insert here that I did this whole room myself. No help from my hubby, as with most rooms in this house.
Here, I enacted Plan B. Not the kind from the drug store, but a Plan B all the same!
Stencil, and stencil was only the beginning! First, I painted the floor in concrete floor paint in Gray. The first placement of my stencil proved this was going to be a royal stencil in my behind too! It did not work and ran all under, around the stencil and made a grand mess because the floor was an add on and turned into a sun room. It was not even close to being able to do a stencil on. SO, Plan C was enacted!
I am a God fearing woman, and believe me when I say this; I traced and painted every single brick you see on this floor. Right hand raised: I swear to tell the WHOLE TRUTH HERE, EVERY ONE OF THEM.
It took me quite some time, don't remember exactly HOW long, But I did it. I was a Happy cam damper and I finally had my brick floor in my sunroom!
This room was for my plants and our girls. I think I succeeded here. Who wants to wake those sleepy babies and ask them?
