    where is your instruction paper?really

  • Sounds like your lower tension is wrong but it would help if you had the manual to check. Could also be that the bobbin thread is not wound correctly or is not the correct weight. Have you embroidered successfully before? Maybe you machine needs a thorough cleaning and adjustment.

    • Hi, I actually have an embroidery machine and I use a special "bobbin" thread (it is a little different). When you embroider, you are placing more stress on the fabric, the needle and the thread. Any of those things could be causing it. I am attach a link to all of the Singer Manuals, maybe you can find some instructions there.

You need to adjust the tension on either the bobbin holder beneath which usually has a small screw to pull the thread down. And/or the top tension maybe too strong preventing the bobbin thread from pulling it down. There is usually a small round dial on the front of the machine you can ajust the tension. Test each time you make an adjustment until it looks balanced. You can check your manual on how to do this.... If you don't have your manual, you can download them on the manufacturers website. or take in to a sewing machine store that carries Singer, and they can adjust for you.

Another trick is to use a piece of tissue paper underneath that just rips away when you are done sewing. I used to use this technique on all the sheers I sewed.

I would then take it in if the tension isn't right and let them fix it at a Singer store.

Sounds like that your bobbin is not filled right or you may not be pulling your bobbin thread up correctly.
