No and No. Laminate floors are only A PICTURE of wood glued on the surface so do not sand. Laminate floors are plastic coated and will not absorb stain.

No. Laminate is not real wood.

It is a multi-layer synthetic product fused together with a laminating process. On the surface is a photographic appliquƩ, sometimes covered with a thin clear layer. If you sand the surface, there will not be enough substance left to try to stain. The integrity of the flooring will be damaged, and the flooring will most likely begin to crack and disintegrate.

yes you can with a gel stain. I have used two different types of stain for this exact thing and I loved them both I also tend to like my stain look like paint but not paint so I paint with stain - I donā€™t wipe it off& I love the look.

Hi Brandi... Could you add a picture? Iā€™d love to see your floor. Btw, I use to live in Norwalk! šŸ˜

The best thing to do is contact the manufacturer of your floors. Some can be sanded and redone, some can't.

If you just have scratches, check with your local flooring company about things you can buy to just clean and restore without sanding.

If you don't care for the color, buy some colorful rugs to distract from the floor and enhance your room.

Keep in mind that what you don't like today, will be back in style in a few years!!!
