How do you get rid of cigarette smell from an apartment.

It has been painted, new carpet, new blinds, and everything scrubbed. We live in Colorado so it's closed up all winter. When you walk in you can smell cigarette smoke.

    place open boxes of baking soda, deactivated charchol or used coffee grounds

    Try placing shallow bowls of white vinegar around the rooms. Leave overnight or longer.

    When you leave for the winter put fabric softener sheets around.

    And air it out as often as you can during the seasons you can. Also, I've had some luck with Febreeze spray for a short fix.

    I would assume a product that absorbs odors would help. I used to get a product at Ace Hardware....

    Did you change the filters in air/heat system? Those will retain smell and spread it every time it's turned on.

    I had previous tenants that smoked. After they moved out, I mixed equal parts water and white vinegar and sprayed everything in sight--ceilings, walls, carpets with this mixture. It did the trick and did no damage to the areas.
