The electric burner elements in most electric stoves pull out in order to remove the chrome "drip catcher" underneath... I used to put mine in the dishwasher and if they are too far gone to clean up.... you can usually find replacements in hardware departments... Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, Target, etc.... large and small round ones.... the square ones may have to be ordered online.

Cheaper to go to an appliance store and buy new silver trays, I am not sure how to clean the electric burners, but they too are not very expensive and it may be cheaper in the long run to buy new.

I think they have aluminum foil liners that fit under your burners. If you mean the tray under your burners....put a piece of aluminum foil there....easy to take out and clean and a new one put in.

Replacement trays are not expensive, but I have found that the finish on black ones are easier to clean. The aluminum foil cover trays are not recommended. Once you have them clean/New, the key is to wipe up any spills before it cooks onto the tray. Electric burner rings are usually removable, and can be soaked or scrubbed. Just leave the prongs out of the water, and let them dry before replacing.

To clean the trays, I used to use oven spray and soak them over night in a metal tub. Use gloves. The burners should not need cleaning, surely they burn off anything on them? Good luck. I also used to put foil on the pans to protect them and just change it out every month. Now you can buy foil pan covers to save the chore of making the foil fit. Buy them where kitchen and home products are sold.

There are stainless steel drip pans that are easier to clean but so far I have not invested in them. I just replace the old ones when they look too shabby.
