Why my Cymbedium orchid flower buds die,

I have a Cymbidium orchid plant which have a flower bud stem but it does not bloom cause it dies before it blooms. I fertilize my plants once a month.

I found two articles for you, the first one is on why orchids loose their buds, the second is on the care of the Cymbidium orchid. I hope these help. The first article suggests that it loses the buds as a defense mechanism to keep the roots alive.
