A stand of some sort thrown out on the curb was re-purposed and became a lovely kitchen island with a little paint and a new top. You can see it was not much when it was discarded. It just looks like a cheap shelf or microwave stand or something. You won't believe what she did to it!
First it is cleaned and painted.
Then it set while it was drying and more small items were gathered.
First you apply thin set mortar made for gluing tile to plywood or floors. Notice the design she planned to add some color and texture to the new table top.
The tiled plywood became the new counter top on the stand. Just apply screws on the underpart to secure the top on it.
She added some wheels and one cabinet side to make this a kitchen island. Wait until you see the ends!
Here you can see the utensils on their hooks for handy use, open shelves for storing kitchen pots or appliances, and the other side includes.....
A towel or paper towel rod for convenience. It is so beautiful, you would never know this was the same discarded, rickety old piece of worn out stand she found on the curb. I have an island with wheels too and I love it! Isn't she a genius, my friend that works a full time job and 2 part time jobs?

This is such a fantastic project! Extra counter space!

I love that it is on wheels too. The wheels can be locked to keep it from moving also. Extra counter space is always a plus! Thanks Wendy.
