Gardening time is just around the corner for most of us and boy am I happy about that! However, I have just recently discovered that I need some new gardening shoes and I really can't justify purchasing anymore because I have a pile of old tennis shoes sitting in the garage. So today I am going to share with you all how I turned those faded shoes in our garage into chic, glittery gardening shoes.icon Glitter is good and so is gardening!

Let us begin at the very beginning of this nifty and thrifty project with this pair of old faded black pair of tennis shoes. The inspiration for this project came to me when I was shoe shopping with some friends. We were flabbergasted at the price of some cute glittery shoes. Which got me to thinking that with a little ingenuity and modgepodge I could make my own pair.
Gather up all of your supplies which are listed below and make certain you cover your work space, as this project does get a little messy!
Mix the podge modge and glitter together in a disposal plastic container. ( This is very important for sticking power!)
  • Cover work area.
  • Tape off shoes.
  • Mix Modge Podge and Glitter together for maximum sticking power. About 1 1/2 parts glitter to 1 part glue.
  • Remove laces from shoes before applying glitter and modge podge mixture.
  • Apply Mixture with paint brush and let dry for 3 hours and reapply mixture if desired.
  • Use toothpicks to “clean,” out modge podge mixture on lace holes on shoes.
  • Once shoes are completely dry spray with polyurethane.
         Lace shoes.
