The plastic circle make the glass turn. Could I use clear nail polish to coat the bare spot that is rusty?

For about $15 you can buy microwave paint on Amazon. The only catch is that you have to wait a day before you can use the microwave again
Agree with Fiddledd224 to Not use nail polish. It is very flammable.
