I am sorry should have been more informative. I want to take it out and put in a walk in shower instead. I don't want to enclose with glass and was wondering if those 1/2 walls work, so that the whole bathroom floor doesn't get wet.
That's OK. As long as you have one tub in the house (it matters for resale), it is a great idea. I would do some research, as those are popular and do work well if positioned correctly. If you have enough room, add in a bench seat. I would have a few consults with qualified contractors and even a bath designer. You live in a large enough city, how about visiting some of the kitchen and bath showrooms before you commit?

If the tub can be re used, donate to habitat for humanity. Occasionally they will help in the removal.
