There are dual purpose items you can find like an ottoman that has a top that comes off for storage, and or other piece of furniture, like a side table or bench that have storage. ( of course it depends on what you are storing and where you need it to be stored) For under cabinets, or in cabinets I have small to medium lazy susans which I keep spices and or cleaning products on. May not be a space saver per say, but it does allow you to organize in a way that makes it easier to find items.( maybe not for everyone) you can stack the smaller bottle spices on top of each other. If you are storing bath items, baskets like Janet suggested are a great way, you can even hang basket(s) in a corner. If jewelry you can make(or buy) a frame with wiring and hang it to hold earrings, add hooks on side of frame for bracelets and necklaces. Command hooks are awesome and can be used just about anywhere. Back of cabinet doors for hanging extra pot holders, in closets for handbags, etc. You can get peel and stick wall paper or pop-ups, for decorating walls too. They are wonderful. You can Google and find brick and mortar stores or online sites that carry them. Zulily.com often has them. Have fun decorating!

Command strips are removable for hanging things. Peel & Stick wallpaper can be applied to an accent wall, I also saw a girl who used just the plain white and painted her wall so it can be removed. Tip, paint the edges and seams with clear to prevent any bleeding.

Storage, use under the bed. If you don't have end tables or a coffee table buy the storage cubes instead for more storage. Tall bookcases are also great storage, and you can use baskets or fabric cubes to hide the items inside. I also always used plastic crates on the top shelves of closets to store out of season clothes. I used the back of bedroom door for shoe storage.
