My sink drains so slowly!!! I've tried all the chemical & natural ways to clear it. Nothing works - the only other answer a very clogged trap. Thanks for any help!!

Remove it, clean it and replace it.

Have you tried baking soda and vinegar?

I DID IT, CHAS!!!! It took a lot more than just the trap. I had to snake it out as well. I'm pretty proud of myself, at 69 years old, to be able to do that. I couldn't have done it without your help. Thanks a million!!!!!!!

You probably have a clog further down the pipes. You can rent, purchase a 1/4" X 15' snake, remove the P trap and rod it through or have a plumber do it. Replacing the drain trap won't fix a clog. Also you can remove and clean the trap, but that is more likely not the problem.

Thank you William. That's what I finally had to do. What a stinky job!! haha I'll check out that BrassCraft. Maybe it's a bit easier than the OLD one I have.

Yes, several times, Chas. It didn't touch it. I'll check out the website you sent from Home Depot. Thank you so much!!

Then you need to remove the trap under the sink and clean it then I'd run a snake thru the pipe and see if there is a blockage.

Yep, that's what I had to do alright, Archie. It was a doozy of a clog too. Everything is flowing smoothly again. Now to keep it that way. Thanks for your input. Have a good week.

I had problem with sink and the in bathroom. 3 bottles of drank over 6 months..did not work. Went to true value asking about drain plug in tub.. Complicated type. The man that worked there at ace hardware sold me flush away chemical drain cleaner. 20 minute and clean as a whistle...

Thanks, Tina. I'll remember that for the next time. This is a 64 year old house. I'm sure the "fix me" cry will come up again.
