Can you use a cement board (I.e. Hardie board, Duroc) on top of the original countertop and seal it to get a "cement" countertop? If so, will it be heat resistant?
Our kitchen countertop is 4" ceramic tiles with a base of 1-1/2 to 2 inches of concrete on top of our walnut cabinets. We want to save money and demo them ourselves....
