I live in zone 8B, and plants suited for zone 8, can't always survive the summer heat, or the winter cold. I 'm planting an orchard and have lost so many beautiful plants and trees because of that. It's very frustrating. i began purchasing plants that are suited for zones 7 - 9 (or a range where zone 8B is in the mid range) to make sure it will survive the temperature extremes. i hope th answers your question.
