The IMC ( Instructional Media Center) was getting rid of this. non working computer mouse. I thought I would make it look like a cartoon mouse. You know the kind with four legs. The more I looked at it the more it looked like a whale's face. I looked up cartoon whales on clip art. I found a few I liked.
Here's the unadorned mouse.
I got into my craft drawer to find everything I needed to turn this mouse into a whale. I found a childs birthday party horn that had blue mylar streamers on it. That could be the water coming out of his blow hole. I also got wiggly eyes, white paint, pipe cleaners and a black vinyl pencil bag for its body. I glued the wiggly eyes on.
I then painted the bottom of the mouse with white paint. I took my drill and made a hole for the blow hole.
Drilling the blow hole.
I inserted the mylar streamer into the blow hole.
I made a template by drawing the the fins and the rest of the body on paper.
I took the black vinyl pencil case a part. I took my paper templates and drew around them on the vinyl. I cut out the pieces. I hot glued a piece of a pipe cleaner to the inside of the tail. It was so the tail would stay stiff.
I hot glued the body and fin pieces together. I glued the body pieces to the body.
I glued a strong magnet to the bottom of the whale.
The whale is now ready to hold my calender to the side of my frig.
This whale can hold a thick two year calendar
