Replace cane seat on chairs.

The chair are all wood with spindle backs. However the seat is some type of open cane in the center of the seat. I would like to replace the cane to make the chair stronger.

    Remove the caning, fit a piece of 1/4” thick wood into the resulting space...secure with glue and/or trim for strength

    Remove the cane and cut a piece of wood to fit a 1/4" larger than the seat. Buy some cotton batting or round foam from a fabric store and material, cut the batting and material to wrap over the wood, use a staple gun to attach. Then attach the new seat to your chair.
