We have used these... easy to install... just level the first row. They come in several different sizes and colors... we got ours at Lowe's

Decide first on the shape you want and the height. Use spray paint to put that design down and follow with whatever material you are using. You could use cement retaining wall pieces, wooden rail roads ties, or make a stone wall.

I love the way your fence matches the window frames. After you clean the flowerbed out, marking the lights, faucets, and hoses that are permanently in place. How about a load of black gravel or river rocks starting at the edge of the house (to match the shutters)? In the rock bed, set out one shrub every three feet, choosing shrubs whose flowers are white or your favorite color. In the space in front of the rocks, plant bulbs—canna, calla, day lillies, tulips, roses, and/or daffodils. From that 1’ wide strip, to the edge of the sidewalk, plant lots of annuals, whatever you like. At the end of summer, pull the dead plants and plant asters, cornflowers, and daisies. At the end of autumn, plant pansies which will live through the winter. Paint the bricks next to the sidewalk all black, or alternate black and white bricks. You will have an enviable flower garden year around. ☺️

Suggest you do some research if your planning on creating a raised bed near your home's foundation. If your bed is higher than the "weep holes" you may have flooding issues inside your home.
