Spray with solution of 50-50 vinegar & water.
They are probably fungus gnats. They lay their eggs in the top layer of (damp)soil. Let it dry out...no place to lay eggs anymore!
- even though it states for fruit this works great. The other thing I was told is to not over water the plant - if you start to see gnats stop watering and let the soil dry completely.
Try using dish soap when you water them .
Letting it dry out is ok, but may harm your plants. Plus... I heard that they feed on the roots too. Use one part Hydrogen Peroxide, and 4 parts water (be careful... too much HP can hurt them too). This will not harm your plants, and will kill the eggs and babies. I also sit little dishes of soapy water in my bigger plants that they fly into. Good luck!
