We had moved into a house with lots of renovations needed, which meant our decor budget was non-existent. Here's how I was able to take what we had on hand and repurpose it to create beautiful decor for my home.
I found these frames at a garage sale for super cheap. 4 frames for less than a buck! In our old home, all I needed to do was a simple update to the artwork.
I created something custom for my home and it worked fine....until we moved. The green mat was in great shape, but it wasn't the right color for our fixer upper.
Here's my solution! I disassembled the frame, glued a piece of scrapbooking paper to the front of the photo mat, and trimmed away the excess using scissors and an exacto knife.
What a transformation! It took just 30 minutes to flip these frames into something that looked gorgeous for our new house.
And these simple frames look great in their new spot!

This could be a great solution to create a custom look, like in a kids room, when finding the perfect accessory is hard to find.
