Im looking to block out heat and a little afternoon sun, but not the veiw pn 36 windows! Plan to start with top 9 as there is no tint at all, and since hurricane Irma thinned out our huge mango tree it has really made a difference.

I would buy window film for this project. You can buy it at the home improvement stores or on-line. There are many patterns, from plain frosted look to intricate glass patterns. They will filter in the light but many will just "blur" the view out.

Measure the area that you want to cover (add up the square inches of all the windows you want to add screening to), then head to your home improvement store and buy a roll or two of tinted window film, here is one example of what's available: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gila-36-in-x-120-in-Gray-Glare-Control-Window-Film-10389340/203807951

I personally have tinted windows put in my home and I must say that there are many days I wish I would’ve never got them. There are days that I would like more sunshine to come in the house. Especially on those cold sunny winter days. Maybe consider UV Solar shades, that way if the sun is coming in just at the top you can just block a little bit and see clearly if you want to block out all the sun you can pull it all the way down still see through or you can just leave them up and have the sunshine and we always have your choice you’re not stuck with tinted windows and less heat in the winter time. Here are some ideas https://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/20314603/ or repurpose some old vinyl window shades, cut most but not all of the vinyl off and glue or sew the screening to the remaining vinyl and use those to block out the sun and raise them up when you want the heat from the sun to come in 🌞

Do to home depot, they have window film with prints frosted bamboo, and all kinds of awesome prints. And if the stuff at Homedepot is to narrow, they have it on sear website.

My Mom had that film in her living room. Kept the sun out but made it so gloomy that it was depressing. I think they make roller shades too. That would be better because you wouldn't have to have them down all the time.

Who ever did my front window used a mirror tint & make it twice as bad as it faces the west right in the sun,yes I get beautiful Sunset's over the water but it gives you a head ache. I have blackout curtains that I just move the one panel to block the sun. They also did a horrible job on the stain glass on the front door cut wrong, air bubbles. I'm changing it out for bamboo film panel. Remember measure twice cut once.
