Looking for deer proof plants for lawn around a Marsh/water area.

    They dont like miscanthus.

    Know about this issue too, I formed some wire fencing baskets to cover the shrubs that were leveled to the ground by deer. They were quite close to the warerfront and hill, I never expected thier intrusion here.

    They dont seem to bother my azaleas and knockouts but they might be eating something more preferable.

    The deer don't like things that stink, like geraniums or marigolds, but will eat them in a pinch. I scatter moth balls (the balls last longer than the crystals) around the plants to help deter them. They don't like things that stick them, like roses or cactus. So short of making a domed cover out of chicken wire to cover the plants, you may have to convert to a rock garden.
