No. Laminate floor has a resin based finish and not enough material for sanding and refinishing.
Aside from putting in a nice area rug, or several rugs to bring in pattern and color, you can paint the floors, scroll down in this article for some basic instructions:

Why don't you look for an inexpensive area rug which matches your décor? Or at some carpet stores they sell remnants and they can be bound at the carpet store. Yu will be surprised how much change this will make. Get as large a rug as you can afford. Big enough so it can be anchored under the sofa / chairs / coffee table.
