I depends on the type of wood flooring, you haven't stated if it is an engineered floor, or a solid 3/4" wood floor. If it is a solid floor, it can be re-finished using the typical "sand and finish" method, if it is an engineered floor, then your best bet would be to "screen finish" the floor. The difference between the sand or screen finish is .. the screen finish is chemically removed, the solid floor is sanded to remove the existing finish. Then a new finish is applied. Both styles of flooring are available with a "micro bevel " or the standard bevel, which is slightly larger than the micro bevel. The wear surface is simple to remove, however the beveled areas are more difficult. Most re-finishers won't "clean" the bevel. Very time consuming. Keep in mind, if you have it done professionally, the cost of having that work performed often is more costly than the cost of the wood itself. (If the floor is a common oak, hickory, or maple. Hope this helps.
