use Roundup on the weeds that get on your side of the property. Wind, Birds, roots, foot traffic can all be responsible for plants cropping up where they are not wanted ...

Sounds like you got neighbors like mine maybe? Only where I live everyone owns 5 acres and my neighbors property looks like a jungle more then a yard or farm land even! Sad part is, there’s not a lot we can do here about it! You can cover the ground with some heavy black plastic and either use bark nuggets or whatever rock you like on top of your plastic to keep weeds from being in a certain area along your fence line. Unfortunately if your neighbors are like mine and let everything go to seed. Especially if your in a windy area like I am, your always going to be fighting weeds on your property somewhere? All you can do is keep pulling them or spraying to kill them. You can use preen that keeps weeds from germinatin. But that has to be reapplied every time it rains or at least every 3 months. Whichever comes first? These all get expensive to try to keep weeds out of your yard when all your neighbors in every direction around you for miles don’t put any effort into taking care of their property! Best thing I’ve found is trying to make as much of my ground soft with garden soil and bark nuggets or gravel that I can so weeds pull out easily! I like the heavy plastic cause it keeps roots from being able to grow too deep and therefore easier to pull out! I’m disabled, so my income needs more help then my physical ability to go out and pull weeds, so far! I just can’t afford to spend much on chemicals and they add up really fast! Pulling weeds is very time consuming, but good exercise! But you got to stay on top of your weeds and keep them pulled before they get a good hold in the ground! If they get over a year without being pulled you might play heck removing the weeds! I sincerely hope you don’t have as much property to maintain as I do if your neighbors are like mine? If you do, you certainly got my sympathy! BTW, if you use bark make sure it’s nuggets and not dust! The bark dust turns to dirt too fast and weeds grow in it way too fast. It won’t be near as bad in bark nuggets and what weeds that do grow will usually pull out very easily! I’m truly sorry, I wish there was better advice I could give you. But after 8 years fighting with weeds this is the best I have came up with! Unfortunately it’s illegal to shoot my neighbors!! LOL

Separate the weeds if possible using a small fence, etc.providing there are no other plants there make a mixture of white vinegar and water 50/50 add a dab of salt and a dab of dish soap.

If talking to your neighbor doesn't work ,you can try to dig a narrow trench, put landscape fabric in it and filled it with rocks and keep the weeds away with that barrier.
