My back yard has no grass anymore it's just bare , what can I do

    what is you location? Do you want to grow grass or looking for other alternatives?

    If you're going to put bark/mulch down it might be better to put a weed preventer membrane down, you can cut it to plant through it, I don't think it'd too expensive but is worth it as it saves weeding. I have tubs on mine with all my various shrubs roses etc in and I have some with bulbs and winter flowering plants it makes life so much easier and less bending is involved

    First, you need to determine why there is no grass. Too much shade? Too much traffic? Pests? The wrong type of grass? Something wrong with your soil? Next, know that grass WILL NOT grow in shady areas, period. If you want living things growing in your back yard, you need to figure out the reason and correct it. If that's not an option, then you can design areas of interest by using mulch or stones and potted plants or raised beds. Without knowing your specific information, that's the best advice I can offer.
